August 2016 For many of us this is THE best time of year for SUP paddling. The winds are light and when the sun is shining there is nothing better than gliding across your favorite body of water and feeling like you have it to yourself. We put the drone up on a beautiful August day off Balmoral Beach – a warm up for our first BAMORAL SUP DEMO abd the BALMORAL SUP X-SERIES.

SUNOVA 10’6 SURF in action

This is one four favourite all-round SUP boards for those looking for extra performance both on a wave and touring. The SUNOVA SURF 10’6 ECO  is full wood board which oozes SUNOVA quality. The beauty of this board is that it balances the needs of the all-round paddler (nice glide) with exceptional surfing ability. 10’6 is a great size if you are looking for just one board to offers the best of both worlds for touring and surfing. The ECO wood (Blue) construction from SUNOVA is one of the most beautiful crafted boards on the market. Full Wood. Exceptional weights and a full set of glass fins. Normally $1799 we have this board on special for at $1499. There are only a couple left but they represent excellent value for a quality board with performance. Add a SUNOVA Nalu Sliver wave paddle for just $240 (RR$299) The SUNOVA SURF 10’6 is also available in XXX Balsa – $2199

Who would have thought it! The most searched terms on Google relating to Stand Up Paddleboarding are ‘Orlando Bloom paddleboarding’, ‘Taylor Swift paddleboarding’ and ‘Amy Schumer paddleboarding’. Great to see the coolest of bods enjoying our sport! Google SUP stars

July 2016 We headed south in July this year with the SUNOVA SURFBOARD team to check out their new SUP boards and paddles for this coming season. Even though we only had small waves we managed to find a peak tucked under a cliff in the corner of a beautiful south coast beach.

Kai Lenny Naish SUP Molokai 2 Oahu winner 2016

Considered to be the ‘Everest’ of ocean paddling, the Molokai2Oahu race is without a doubt the pinnacle of achievement for most ocean racers – prone or Stand Up. Many of Australia’s top paddlers, including many Northern Beaches locals (who also race in the Sydney SUP Festival ) were on the starting line in Hawaii in July. You cannot help but admire the dedication required to compete in an event like this. RESULTS: Molokai 2 Oahu 2016 courtesy of SUP RACER

July 2016 It has been an incredibly chilly winter down here in Australia this year. Balmoral Paddlesurf, head-honcho, Andrew Allen was lucky enough to escape to the warmth cruising in Croatia and the Amalfi Coast/ Italy. Here is one of his favourite activities – Sea Cliffing! Looking forward to some Sea Cliff exploring from my Stand Up Paddleboard this Summer! Your SUP can take you anywhere!

July 2016 Keep your eye out for these beautiful creatures that will be cruising the East Coast of Australia this Winter. We were lucky enough to come across this playful creature in Sydney Harbour last August. There is no better way to go Whale Watching than on a Stand Up Paddleboard!

June 2016 “Yoga on the water takes away the walls and the ground and open up the experience to what is above and below. Float along and see what comes next…” Unless you have seen it in action it is hard to wrap your head around SUP YOGA. If ever you needed convincing that this off-shoot of the Stand Up Paddle boarding was legit, watch this beautiful video. Yoga on water – surrounded by the studio of life

June 2016 Videos of SUP foiling or foiling on a Stand Up Paddleboard have been popping up everywhere of late and most of them make it look pretty KOOKY. This latest video of Zane Schweitzer with Jeffery & Finn Spencer testing out some new foils from GOFOIL is actually looking pretty cool. It is however not as easy at it looks and if you come into contact with the foil at speed there is plenty of evidence on-line that the foil usually win. As easy as these guys make it look this part of the sport has a long way to go before us mere mortals will be foiling our local break. Stay tuned on how this one develops!
